In today’s world, we are exposed to lots more choices.  Is this a desirable or undesirable way of life depends on your status in society and whose perception you value most i.e the society or your own.  Frankly speaking, it can sometimes be a chore to go through all available choices just to select the “best” option.  Therefore, it is not always appropriate to just take measurement in economic sense.  One’s own psychological needs and at the same time, synchronizing with people around you and maintaining harmony with nature are important factors to take into consideration as well.

We are pelted with problems every day.  Honestly, none should bother or even hinder us to becoming all we ought to be.  Aspirations should continue to live within us, as long as we could hold on to our dream.  Many say you cannot teach an old dog new tricks… or can they?

Let ask ourselves these 9 questions and try answering all truthfully.  In no time, before us should be a guiding roadmap to success!

1. What do I really want in life?

2. Do I need to change?

3. What are the downsides in all of this?

4. Am I comfortable with what I’m doing?

5. Have I done enough for myself?

6. Am I happy at where I am today?

7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex?

8. How much can I have?

9. What Really Ticks You?

You can be just about anything you always wanted to be.  Procrastinate on achieving something that may appear very challenging is already giving up before you even start the journey.  Always remember, self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it’s something that you really want for your life!

Remember when I just started schooling, I come across a fiction book whereby the reader is requested to determine the main character’s next action by flipping to one of the indicated pages.  This process will continue until the story ends.  Each choice leads the main character through different adventure and ending; but may get him to “go round the world” as well and ended up in the same plight as in some cases whereby a shorter route can be taken.

This is very reflective to life!!  You cannot really anticipate where your decision can lead you to until you go through it.  There are no certainties - one important aspect you need to establish about life.  Too many possible outcomes out there that you have no control over.   What is in your hand is the decisions that you will make, and how you act and react to different situations.

Since life offers no certainty, you would never know whether your decision is good or bad until you made it.  You need to factor in the risk.  Doing nothing is a decision and it involves risk too.  Although it is true that one wrong turn could get you lost, nonetheless, it can turn out to be an opportunity for an adventure, resulting in more avenues which may lead you closer to your goal.  It is just a matter of perspective.  You have the choice between being a lost traveler or an accidental tourist of life!

Therefore, why not make the choice today to join me on 29 Feb 2008 (a “special” day worth celebrating as it only turns up every 4 years), and we together will make this day the start of a new chapter in our life!!  From this day onwards, I will be posting articles that help in improving our personal well-being, be it psychologically or financially.  So, stay tuned..

Any resolutions for the year?  Everyone has dreams and aspirations.  They may be small and/or big like to be rich and famous, to be successful or simply, be happy.  To dream is to satisfy one’s own psychological or spiritual need(s); to act is to move yourself closer to realizing your dream(s)!

How many times have we fantasized of living in a big house with a nice garden, drive a Ferrari F430 Spider or just leading a simple yet happy life with your loved ones?  However, most of the times, before we take action or maybe in the midst of it, we feel lost and begin to “hypnotize” ourselves why waste time since we will never make it!  We procrastinate, we leave our future to destiny…  Our dreams remain just - dreams, and our aspirations easily collect dust in the attic.

This is a sad turn of events in life.  Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self-actualisation, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day, just barely existing.  We may do well in our professional role but how many of us would admit that it is what we enjoy doing for life…  Did you ever spare a moment to check with your heart, is this what you aspire to be??

Life can be great, it is never mean unless you allow it to turn out that way!!  We often neglect our inner perception, the actual path to live our ideal life…  How and where do you start?  Let’s share experiences and make this a turning point for our life in 2008!!

Most would attribute these to destiny or luck while some felt hardwork plays a major part in which we might term as “success”.  How many of us would think for a moment that these people are living happily as well!?
